The funeral of the late Mrs. Esther Andrew, wife of Mr. James Andrew,
and mother of Mr. J.P. Dunstan took place yesterday. There was a large
attendance of sorrowing friends who joined in the lengthy cortege to Bendigo
Cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest in the Methodist Portion, the
coffin being carried to the grave by Messer's T. hall, F. Patterson, J.
Marriot and T. Corrie. A solemn service was held at the graveside by the Revs.
T. Grove and H.S. Heath, the hymn "Abide with me" being sung. Amongst the many
prominent citizens present was the Mayor (Cr. Dunstan). There was a lar
number of beautiful floral tokens, amongst them being handsome domed
artificial wreaths form the Rowan Street Methodist Church and Christian
Endeavour Society, the employees of the Garden Gully United Mine, and t
manger (Mr. J. Prior). The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. W.
Farmer, M/Crae-street.
