Weddings
Bassett-Cabban
The afternoon of Saturday, 29th September, was chosen by Miss Irene Cabban for her marriage to Mr. John Frederick Bassett, of Junee, at St. Thomas’ Church of England, Narandera.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cabban, of Audley Street, Narandera, and the bride-groom is the third youngest son of Mrs. Bassett and the late Mr. A.H. Bassett, of Gillenbah, Narandera.
The Rev. W.G. Bennett performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white lace over satin, and a full-length tulle veil held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of lilies and fern.
Miss Dell Cabban, of Leeton, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid, and her frock was of pink figured lace over taffeta. She wore a picture hat of the same shade, and carred a bouquet of sweet peas and fern.
Mr. Kennedy Bassett, the bride-groom’s brother, was best man.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Cabban, assisted by Mrs. Bassett, received about 40 guests.
