Bassett-Dennis
A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Mullumbimby Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 23, when Mr. Victor Bassett, younger son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bassett, of Mullumbibmy Creek, was married to Georgina Jack, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Dennis, Mullumbibmy. The Rev. S.I. Nash officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of cream satin, with silver shoulder posy. Her veil was of pink tulle, with wreath of orange blossoms. Her sheaf bouquet was of arum lilies, pink stocks, and maidenhair fern. Miss Vic Dennis, bridesmaid, wore cream mariette and satin, trimmed with blue and pink primroses, with silver tissue headband. Her bouquet was of sweet peas and lupins. Mr. Arnold Adamson, Byron Bay, was best man.
At the conclusion of the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at Papa?s Café, when the usual toasts were honoured. The honeymoon is being spent in Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Mrs. Bassett?s travelling dress was wine coloured crepe Lorraine, with hat to tone. Numerous presents were received by the happy couple.

The Presbyterian Church was crowded on Friday evening last to witness the marriage of Mr. Victor Bassett, younger son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bassett, of Mullumbimby Creek and Georgina Jack, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dennis, Byson Street, Mullumbimby. Rev. S.I. Nash officiated. The youthful bride, who was given away by her father, was daintily attired in a cream satin frock, with silver shoulder posy and struck and original note by wearing a pink tulle veil, with wreath of orange blossoms, and carried a sheaf bouquet of Arum lilies, pink stock and maiden hair fern. Miss Vic. Dennis, in a charming frock of cream mariette and satin, daintily trimmed with blue and pink primroses and wearing a silver tissue headband, attended as bridesmaid. Her bouquet was composed of sweet pea and lupin.
Mr. Arnold Adamson (Byron Bay) acted as best man.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (the latter wearing a gown of navy crèpe de chine, trimmed with mastic, and hat en suite) afterwards received about thirty relatives and friends at G. Papas? Café, where the wedding breakfast was held. The youthful couple later left for Sydney and the mountains, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a frock of wine colored crepe Loraine with hat to tone.
The handsome three decker wedding cake was the work of Mrs. W. Stewart, sister of the bridegroom.
