Julius C. Bassett III (1942-2018) (Picture included)
Pensacola - MSGT Julius Ceasar Bassett passed from this life to eternal life on March 19, 2018. He was born on November 24, 1942 to Julius and Marie Bassett in Pensacola, Florida.
He was a graduate of the class of 1960 from Booker T. Washington High School and a 1977 graduate of St. Leo College in San Antonio, Florida. He received his masters degree from Golden Gate University in 1979. Julius served his country in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 26 years of service including tours of duty in Europe and Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Edna Bassett and Herman and Rita Bassett. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lillie R. Bassett, dedicated son and granddaughter, Victor and Victoria Bassett, Brandon, FL; caring sister, Thelma (Rev. Clarence) Salter, Pensacola, FL; sister-in-law, Brenda Edwards, Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law, Willie Gregory, Atlanta, GA; Aunt, Leila Shoemo, Altamonte Springs, FL; uncles, Coolidge Gray, Brewton, AL and Harvey Gray, San Diego, CA; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special childhood friend, Lewis Miller, Jr.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. at Reeds Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at the First Corinthian Baptist Church, 1700 W. Jackson Street on March 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full Air Force honors.
