He was born on December 9, 1945 to Julius and Marie Bassett in Pensacola Florida. Lawrence graduated from University of Lowell in 1978. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edna M. Bassett and brother Herman Bassett. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Angela Bassett, and son Ahlaki Young-Dale, Dartmouh, MA; dedicated sister, Thelma (Rev.Clarence) Salter; caring brother, Julius (Lillie) Bassett, Pensacola,FL; and many nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be Wednesday October 18, 2017, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Reeds Funeral Home, Funeral Service Thursday 11:00 am.at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
