      Frances (Lasewicz) Bassett
      BASSETT, Frances (Lasewicz) Frances (Lasewicz) Bassett, 71, of Plainville Avenue, Unionville, beloved wife of Edward L. Bassett, passed away Monday, (April 4, 2011) surrounded by her family at her home. She was born January 16, 1940 in Bristol, daughter of the Alfonsa "Alice" (Ginszanski) Lasewicz of Farmington, CT and the late Paul J. Lasewicz, and had lived in Bristol prior to moving to Unionville. She was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University where she received her Bachelors Degree in education. Mrs. Bassett was an Elementary School Teacher in the Bristol School System, had worked as Regional Manager for Filenes Fine Jewelry in the GFox Stores in the Connecticut and Rhode Island Areas and was the Assistant Town Clerk in Farmington for many years prior to her retirement. She was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies, enjoyed gardening, gem cutting and rock hounding, and was a terrific quilt maker and loved travel and camping. Besides her loving husband of 51 years and her mother, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dawn S. and Steven Chinsky of Mansfield, MA; her son and daughter-in-law, Todd J. and Sheila Bassett of Cheshire; five grandchildren, Blake, Averye and Kellen Bassett and Tyler and Sydney Chinsky; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul J. and Ann Lasewicz of Stafford Springs and William R. and Burma S. Lasewicz of Huntsville, AL; her sister and brother-in-law, Alice "Lorrie" and Brooke Hardy of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Masonicare Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they provided to Frances. There are no calling hours. A graveside service and burial will be Saturday, April 9, 12 Noon at Greenwood Cemetery on Lovely Street in Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Cancer Center, 95 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105-1299. Vincent Funeral Home of Canton is caring for the arrangements.
