"Gene" Bass, 78, of Kilgore will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, February 26, at the Hickory Grove Cemetery with burial following services. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Bass passed away Sunday in Kilgore. Mr. Bass was born February 27, 1936 in Kilgore to the late Grady and Marie Bass. He served in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked as a General Contractor and Carpenter for many years until retirement. Gene is survived by his daughter, Gina Robbins of Nederland; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Mike Simmons of Liberty City; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sue Bass of Kilgore; one granddaughter; two greatgrandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
