Kenneth G. Bass
BASS Kenneth G. Bass, age 73, of Midwest City, was called home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, May 23, 2000. Born October 24, 1926 to Walter and Amelia Bass in Duncan, OK. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country proudly in World War II. While employed at Tinker Air Force Base, he met co-worker June S. Leys and they married on May 17, 1947. He was an active member of Country Estates Baptist Church since August 1953. He was instrumental in the construction of the church buildings over the past 4 decades. He had been a Sunday School teacher since 1954. He taught fifth grade Sunday School and spent the last 29 years touching the lives of 2 year olds in a very special way. He also served as Deacon and Usher for the church. He was a longtime member of the Midwest City Masonic Lodge where he served as secretary for 25 years. He was on the Board of Directors of the Masonic Home in Guthrie, OK, for 17 years. He was honored as Mason of the Year for 2000 and he was also a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Amelia; his wife, June Bass, and brother-in-law, Ben Schroeder. He married Norma Lowe on September 30, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Ken (Sam) Bass and wife Dawn, and their two sons, Justin and Kyle of Deland, FL, daughter, Sandi Campbell and husband, Shane, and their two children, Tyler and Courtney of Midwest City, OK; step-daughter, Linda Miller and husband, David and their daughter Stephanie of Oklahoma City, OK; step-son, Keith Lowe and wife, Marta and their two children, Chad and Leslie of Oklahoma City, OK; step-son, Kyle Lowe and Kerry, and their two sons, Paul and Nathan of Jones, OK; sister, Nadine Schroeder of Moore, OK; brother, Lee Bass and wife Barbara of Oklahoma City; sister, Geneva Wooton, and husband, Tom of Medford, OR; and a host of other relatives and many, many friends. Services will be Thursday, May 25, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Country Estates Baptist Church, with burial in Arlington Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kenneth G. Bass Building Memorial Fund for Country Estates Baptist Church.
