Charles R. Bass
Charles R. Bass, 65, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2003, at Deaconess Hospital.
Charles was a member of Abundant Faith United Pentecostal Church. He was formerly the chief of police of Ridgway and Golconda, Illinois, and was later employed by Crawford Door in Evansville until retiring in 1995.
He is survived by a son, Tilford Caswell of Uniontown, Kentucky; three daughters, Robin Bass of Evansville, Brenda Lynch of Ridgway, Illinois, and Carol Wolf of Uniontown, Kentucky; his mother, Lois Hatfield of Evansville; two brothers, Cletus Bass of Evansville and Donald Bass of Park Forest, Illinois; three sisters, Carolyn White of Steger, Illinois, Vera White of Poseyville and Phyllis and her husband, Bill Vailes, of Evansville; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Anna Bass, in 1995, a daughter, Deborah Watters; granddaughter, Kimberly Watters, grandson, Matthew Fenton and his father, Charles R. Bass.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at Abundant Faith United Pentecostal Church, 1228 Lodge Ave., with Rev. David H. Bayer and Rev. Jeremy Moore officiating.
Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. today, February 25, at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 First Avenue. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 26, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be at Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to help the family with expenses.
