Terry Willard Bass
October 25, 1950 ? October 17, 2025
Terry Willard Bass, 74, of Ringgold, Virginia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at 11:13 a.m. on October 17, 2025, in Danville, Virginia.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Bass; his children and their spouses, Amy Lovern (Chris), Jan Hunter (Shawn), and Brad Bass (Anthony); his cherished grandchildren Jasmine Caruthers (Josh), Morgan Hunter, Ryan Hoskins (Hunter), McKenzie Barber (Jackson), and Justin Galde; and his four great-grandsons, who brought him endless joy ? Jai, Jonah, Jericho, and Weston.
He is also survived by his brothers Barry Bass (Linda), Larry Bass, and Chris Bass (Ellen), and was preceded in death by his brother Teddy Bass.
A lifelong tobacco farmer, Terry worked hard and took great pride in his land and in his deep roots within the Ringgold community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found joy in the simple and steady rhythm of country life. He loved being outdoors ? whether hunting with friends, playing a round of golf when he was able, or driving the back roads and fields, watching for deer and soaking in the beauty of the land he loved so much.
Though a quiet man, when Terry spoke, people listened. His words carried weight, wisdom, and often a touch of humor. Evenings were best spent in his favorite blue recliner, relaxing after a long day?s work and enjoying television with Brenda, his family, and friends by his side.
Terry?s faith was the foundation of his life. A regular attendee of Temple Baptist Church, he found comfort, peace, and fellowship there. In the days before his passing, Terry shared the words that defined his heart and faith: ?Nothing else matters if you don?t have Jesus.? He lived by that truth every day ? with humility, gratitude, and love.
The family takes great comfort in knowing that not only was Terry welcomed into Heaven by his Savior, but also by his beloved Mama, Daddy, and baby brother, whom he has missed so much.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 5?7 P.M. at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 2 P.M. at the same location. Interment will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Sovah Danville ICU for their kindness and excellent care.
Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
