Bass CLINTON -- Mrs. Frances Marie Simmons Bass, 85, of 3311 Bass Town Road died Sunday in Sampson Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Royal-Hall Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Charles R. Jernigan. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery. Mrs. Bass is survived by a daughter, Clara B. Tart of Garner; a son, Floyd J. Bass of Clinton; two sisters, Thelma Hope of Clinton and Alice Smith of Dunn; four brothers. D.M. McCullen and Zack McCullen, both of Clinton, Carl McCullen of Wilmington and L.A. McCullen of Hampstead; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Floyd J. Bass, 105 Owl Roost, Clinton, N.C. 28328.
