      Elias Bass Dead

      Elias Bass died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dick Wormington in this city last Wednesday of old age, he being 86 years of age.
      Funeral services were held at the M.E. church south Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Cleaves after which the remains were laid to rest in the local cemetery.
      The deceased came to this country from Indiana in 1866 and stopped in the Dry Valley neighborhood a few years and then moved to town where he lived to the time of his death. he leaves two daughters, Mesdames E.H. Wormington and John Johnson of this place and one sister in Illinois.
      The deceased was a Christian man, a member of the South church of this place to which he had been faithful for many years and had done all he could for its prosperity.
