Mrs. Gertrude Bessette
Mrs. Gertrude (Richard) Bessette, 85, widow of Andrew Bessette, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Bessette was born at St. Albans Bay Aug. 28, 1886, daughter of the late Henry and Delia (Bellevue) Richard.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Gaudette of Georgia, Mrs. Mildred Esposito and Mrs. Pauline Esposito, both of Providence, R.I.; two sons, Arnold Bessette and Frederick Bessette, both of St. Albans; one sister, Mrs. Cora Demingware of Middlesex; two brothers, Sidney Richard of Springfield, Mass. and William Richard of St. Albans; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Until the hour of the funeral Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, friends may call at the Driscoll and Morgan Memorial, 158 North Main St., tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. T.J. Moran is the funeral director.

Mrs. Getrude Bessette
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude (Richard) Bessette were held Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church with the Rev. Roger Newton celebrating a requiem high Mass.
The bearers were Peter Bessette, Fred Bessette Jr., Vernon Gaudette, Victor Gaudette, Vance Gaudette and Paul Gaudette, all grandsons of Mrs. Bessette. Interment was in the family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Father Newton read the committal prayers.
