- William P. Bassett
(February 5, 1934 - July 21, 2005)
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem for William P. Bassett, 71, of Salem, with burial to follow at the Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Mike Ice will officiate.
Bassett died at 4:18 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, at Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation in Salem. He was born in Albion on Feburary 5, 1923, the son of Floyd and Catherine Hatlett Bassett. On July 18, 1942, in Wayne City, he married Doris Wilson.
He was a retired welder and he attended the Nazarene church.
Survivors include: his wife, Doris Bassett; a son, Gary Bassett and wife Linda of Keenes; a sister, Lyndall Patterson of Aurora; one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Roger Bassett; a brother, Larry Bassett; and a sister, Opal Moore.
Memorials may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Nazarene church.
