Reba (Ellsworth) Bessette
FAIRFAX – A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Reba E. Bessette was held Saturday, Nov. 7, 1992, at noon in S. Luke Church, Fairfax, with Father Joseph Sullivan officiating, assisted by Deacon Stephen Ratte. Her grandchildren took an active part in the celebration. The pall was placed on her casket by Darlene Coon and Claudine Thibault. Her Bible and a crucifix were presented by Tim Bessette and Jonathan Matthews. Linda Bessette and Nicole Thibault did the readings, offertory gifts were presented by Emily and Rebecca Minor, Sara Matthews, and Katie Bessette. Words of remembrance were spoken by Christine Murray Bessette. Linda Bessette was also the organist. Two nephews, Bob Bessette, his wife, Kathy, and Steve Bessette, along with Carol Hayes, provided guitar and vocal arrangements. Attending the visitation and funeral was a representation from Friendly Neighbors Senior Citizens, Fairfax Homemakers, Ladies of St. Luke, Father Kelly Council 10830 K of C., Green Mountain Steppers Square Dance Group, BFA-Fairfax 1993 alumni, cafeteria staff, administration and faculty, Fairfax Town offices, Fairfax United Church, Georgia Elementary School and many area farmers and suppliers. Bearers, all grandsons, were Ted, Roger, Michael, and John Bessette, Nathan, Alan, and Jasan Matthews and Brad Minor. Interment followed in St. Luke Cemetery. Friday, Father Sullivan conducted a prayer service in Hayes-Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax.
