Douglas Andrew Bass

Doug was born in Miami to the late Vernon Bass and Marilyn Bass. He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School and Florida International University. He spent over 25 years employed in the financial industry. In 2015 he moved to Cary, NC, and married his former classmate from Curley, Carol Burton. A short time later, he was diagnosed with cancer. He fought valiantly for almost two years, but sadly, lost his battle. Doug passed away in Hospice in Cary, with Carol by his side. Doug is survived by his wife Carol, four children Kathleen and Priscilla Bass (twins), Riley Bass and Cassidy Bass, his Mother, Marilyn Bass, two brothers, Christian Bass and John Bass, three half-brothers, James Hammack, Jack Bass and Steve Bass. Memorial service will be held at the McArthur Chapel of The Miami Shores Presbyterian Church, 601 NE 96 St. at 2PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017.
