Clarence L. (Mike) Redmond (Picture included)
Clarence L. Redmond (Mike) 93, passed away peacefully at St. Francis Hospital, in Federal Way WA on February 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born in Seattle, WA to Louis and Mamie Redmond and was the youngest of two boys, predeceased by his older brother John. Mike graduated from O'Dea High School. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War ll (Pacific Theatre) and the Korean War. He attended Gonzaga University and University of Washington. In 1950 Mike met the love of his life, Connie Bassett and in 1952 they began a happy marriage of over of 65 years, and raised 3 kids.
Mike spent the majority of his career in the insurance industry and was widely respected, ending in his dream job, as a deputy insurance commissioner in Olympia. Mike was a proud veteran and for many years attended veteran's events throughout the country with Connie. Mike was very proud of his Irish and Norwegian heritage and at one point traveled to Ireland to visit his cousins. He maintained a long distance relationship with his Irish relatives. Mike was also an avid UW Husky and Seahawk fan.
Mike was always involved in charities, and is a past president of the Lions Club. Mike loved being around people, and made friends easily. His desire to help others often put him in leadership roles. Mike loved and was very proud of his three children.
Mike is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Janine, and two sons, Jim (Penny) and Don (LeeAnne).
Mike is also survived by sister in laws; Jean, Vi, and Antoinette, and many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
