Born on April 23, 1946, in Indianapolis, he was the son of James Scott and Imogene (Scott) Bass. Greg married Vickie Polston on August 27, 1965, then again on March 10, 2011. He worked at Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis for thirty years before retiring in 1995. He was a fan of NASCAR and the Indianapolis Colts. He also collected guns. Surviving him are his wife, two children, and 4 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; previous wife, Nancy Bass; and sister, Peggy O'Brien. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, September 2, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Casual attire is requested.
