Kathryn Isabel Bass, 94, Nevada, MO, died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada. She was born December 3, 1910, in Horton, MO, to Adam Lewis Humble and Cora Casady Humble. She married William Irl Bass on September 28, 1931, in Stockton, MO. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1967.
Mrs. Bass graduated from Nevada High School in 1929. She lived her lifetime in the Horton/Nevada area. She was a member of the Horton United Methodist Church and also attended the Nazarene Church. Kathryn was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge, a Red Cross volunteer, and a member of the Vernon County Historical Society.
Survivors include two grandsons, Jaye Bass, Huntsville, AL, and Drew Bass, Greenville, AL; one daughter-in-law, Carmel Bass, Montgomery, AL; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Joe Bass in 1997, her daughter-in-law, Toni in 1988, her parents; two brothers, Baird and James, and two sisters, Beulah Butler and Ruby Butler.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, MO with Pastor Mike Satterlee officiating. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. today and until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.
