A native of this city, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Daly) Bass, and was employed at the post office before retiring. in April 1953. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Church, a number of church organizations and the Pickwick Club. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Julia (McGrath) Bass; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Welintkionis of this city and Mrs. Walter Rivers of Plainville; two sons, Charles Bass of New Britain and William Bass of Meriden; a brother, Frank Bass of this city, and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. from the Haffey Funeral Home and at 10 at St. Joseph?s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery.
