BERNICE I. WOOLFORD
Lifelong local resident Bernice Irene Woolford, 72, of Longview, died Jan. 18, 2001, at St. John Medical Center.
She was born May 13, 1928, in Kalama to Delbert and May (Norton) Watson and attended Kalama schools. She had lived in Longview for more than 40 years, coming from Kelso.
Mrs. Woolford worked at the Rainbow Cafe in Kelso during the late 1950s and early '60s. She made many friends while playing bingo at the Mauraders and Northern Lights. She enjoyed trips to Reno, her flowers, her dog "Punkin" and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Woolford, in 1989.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Woolford of Longview, James Woolford of Kelso and David Woolford of Woodland; a daughter, Cathy Parvi of Longview; a brother, Steven Watson of Longview; two sisters, Marlene Courser of Vancouver and Beverly Henderson of Woodland; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Steele Chapel with the Rev. Bob Giles Sr. officiating. Interment will take place at Longview Memorial Park. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.
