Dorothy (Young) Bassett
Dorothy Bassett (nee Young), 85, on February 3, 2008 of Wellington at
Hershey's Mill, formerly a resident of Villanova for 46 years. She was a
graduate of Lower Merion High School, class of '41 and attended Temple
University. Dottie had fond memories of summers growing up in Ocean City, NJ.
She took great pride in her father's accomplishments as a professional
baseball player for the Detroit Tigers. She was the beloved wife for 62 years
of the late Robert M. Bassett. She is survived by sons, Robert Jr. "Pep"
(Donna), Bruce Y. (Marjorie), Scott D. (Shannon) and 10 grandchildren.
Dottie's presence in this world brightened the lives of so many, and she will
deeply missed. Memorial service Wed. Feb. 13 at 11 A.M. at St. David's
Episcopal Church, 763 Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA. Reception following at the
church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer
Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382.
