Susan Elizabeth Bass
August 10, 1966 - June 13, 2019
Kenly - Susan Elizabeth "Beth" Bass passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Beth was born in Wilson County on August 10, 1966, to Sue Harrell Bass of Kenly and the late Nathan Gray Bass. She was currently working as a case manager with the Goldsboro Housing Authority. Beth had attended Mount Olive College and graduated from East Carolina University with degrees in journalism and English. She was a member of Piney Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to celebrate Beth's life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, in the Chapel of Kenly Funeral Service with the Reverend David Currie officiating. Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery. Beth is survived by her mother, Sue H. Bass; her fiancé, Brian Paulson; brother, Stephen Walker Kearney; niece, Jordan Elizabeth Kearney; nephew, William Walker Kearney; and a great-nephew, Ethan James McLamb. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Rose Bass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Piney Grove O.F.W.B.
