January 28, 2005 Michele Kimberley Slaton, 43 of Roseville, California departed this life on Friday, January 28, 2005. A private viewing will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, Merced. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, Merced. Interment will be immediately following at Merced District Cemetery. Michele graduated from Merced High School Class of 1979. She attended Merced Junior College where she was the Homecoming Queen and then received her Associate in Arts Degree from Four C's College in Sacramento. Michele worked for Bank of America in Merced and for many years, worked as a supervisor in the accounting department of Foundation Health in Sacramento, California. Michele loved her family dearly and had very special relationships with each of her nieces and nephews. She loved to laugh, enjoyed traveling, playing games and athletic events. Michele also loved talking on the phone and always made a special effort to stay connected to family. She cherished family gatherings and loved the Lord. Even after suffering a stroke in the autumn of 1997, Michele had a strong spirit and a zest for life. Her strength and determination was an inspiration to us all. Over the past few years, Michele and her brother Gary shared a home and a bond that can only exist between brother and sister. Michele is preceded in death by her father Walter John Slaton in 1993, her mother Joyce V. (Bass) Slaton in 1995, two brothers William Slaton in 1945, and Harry B. Slaton in 1993. Survivors include two brothers, Perry W. Slaton and wife Liz of Las Vegas, NV, and Gary A. Slaton of Roseville, CA; one sister, Melanie Slaton-Holden and husband Ben of Columbus, GA; sister-in-Law, Lillian A. Slaton of Merced, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Michele will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family, friends and everyone she touched.
