Wanda Wall Bass
DANVILLE, Va. Wanda Wall Bass, age 90, wife of the late Benjamin Wade Bass, passed away, Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in her final days surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Bass was born in Danville, Va., a daughter of the late Philander O. and Marjorie Moss Wall. She was also pre-deceased by her daughter, Mary "Jenny" Bass Meeler. Mrs. Bass attended Brosville High School in Pennsylvania County and attended Lynchburg Business College in Lynchburg, Va., she was the Corporate Secretary of Danville Industries and a member of American Business Women Association in Danville, Va. Wanda was the owner of Bass Gems and Minerals, a successful jewelry business which afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States. She also enjoyed spending the winter months at her second home in Florida and she had been living in Myrtle Beach for the past three years. Survivors are a daughter, Pamela J. Blair and husband, Walter Blair, III: son-in-law, Hop Meeler all of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Erlene Vogt of Denver, Colo., and Peggy Dickerson of Danville, Va.; two granddaughters, Amy Holloway and husband, Tim, and Ashley Stathatos; and five grandchildren, Ben, Parker, and Trevor Stathatos, and Elizabeth and Emma Monaghan. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m.Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville, Va. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 1:45p.m. prior to services at the church. An online guest book is available at www.msfh.net.
