George Richard "Dick" Bassett Jr.
George Richard "Dick" Bassett, Jr. - Born February 24, 1934 in Mobile, Alabama, and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 in a local hospital. Mr. Bassett worked as a furniture salesman in the Mobile area for over forty years. He retired from Hoffman Furniture after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thurman Bassett.
Survivors include three children, Shirley Lynn (Wayne) Blackwell, Montgomery, Alabama; George R. (Angela) Bassett, III and John Michael (Shelly) Bassett, both of Mobile, Alabama; one brother, William "Bill" Earl Bassett, Pensacola, Florida; five grandchildren, Lauren Hamilton, Grayson Blackwell, Megan, Quaid and Maddie Bassett; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
