Mr Shane D. Bassett - Died Thursday, September 15, 1988 in a Pensacola Hospital. He is survived by his father and stepmother, William and Carolyn Bassett, mother Jo Anne Bassett, two brothers, Lowell Bassett and William Bassett, all of Pensacola, Florida; stepbrother Robby Nabors of Pensacola, Florida; paternal grandmother, Bonnie J. Bassett, uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Bassett, all of Mobile, Alabama. Funeral services will be held from Faith Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 1988 at 1 p.m. with Reverend L.B. Davis officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 16, 1988 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral arrangements are by Faith Chapel Funeral Home, Pensacola, Florida.

Bassett Memorial Fund is Established
A fund in memory of Shane Bassett, a Pensacola youth who was killed in an automobile accident, has been established to sponsor an education award.
Bassett, who was 16 when he was killed on September 15, was a student at Pine Forest High School. The fund will sponsor an annual award to a student at the high school who has average grades and wishes to go to college but lacks the financial capacity to do so. The recipient will be chosen by a committee of teachers at the school.
Contributions may be mailed to the Shane Bassett Memorial Fund, Citizens and Builders Savings Bank, Pensacola, Florida 32501.
Bassett was the son of William Bassett, a native of Mobile.
