Bassett, 63, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday September 11, 2013 at Halcyon Hospice following a short illness. Born Augut 28, 1950 in San Diego, California to the late John and Jeanne Bassett, he had lived in Gainesville for the past year having moved from Dawsonville. Mr. Bassett was formerly employed and an engineer with Secure USA and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam era. Surviving are his sisters and brothers in law, Barbara and Tom Quintrell, Dawsonville, Susan and Eubia Hall, Suwanee,; son, James Curtis Bassett; niece Katie Hall Clark and her husband Scott; nephew, Kevin Quintrell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 7 with a memorial service provided by the Dawson County Chapter of the Viet Nam Veterans Association at 7 p.m. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneralhome.com.
