Dorothy Bass

Dorothy May Bass, was born January 12, 1918, departed this life June 6, 2010.
She was born to James and Liddy Rogers. She was the youngest of nine children. The "Baby" of the family. All eight siblings preceded her in death.
She married Hugh Bass at the age of seventeen.To this union five children were born. Her husband and the oldest child, a boy, Norman Eugene Bass, two grandchildren Steven Kelley and Pamela Marsh, one great grandson Jesse Hubbard ,and a son in law Frank Krebs preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Krebs, Doris Marsh, Caroline Johannsen and her husband Steve, Sherry Hubbard and her husband Larry, all of Springfield. Her daughter?in?law, Norma Bass, of Fair Grove. Fourteen Grandchildren, thirty seven great- grandchildren and thirty two great-great grandchildren. Also, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dorothy had many hobbies through the years. She loved cooking, canning, ceramics, and quilting. She loved the lord and attended church regularly until her health began to deteriorate. One Of her passions was listening to Gospel music. Another passion was her family. Dorothy is singing in Heaven now, and if she could speak to us today, I'm sure she would say???THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
Visitation for the family will be, from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Greenlawn North Funeral Home Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with the Rev. Reford Bagley officiating.
Burial will immediately follow the service at Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Fair Grove, MO. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Maples Nursing Home and Hospice Compasses for their care of our mother.
