Elaine Bassett Staples
Elaine Bassett Staples, age 93, of Henderson, KY, passed away, on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Homeplace of Henderson.
Elaine retired from Methodist Hospital in the early 90?s where she worked as an insurance advisor. She was a member of Spottsville Baptist Church and was a dedicated UK fan. Elaine was a pistol, she loved her family dearly and her grandbabies were her whole life.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Sherman and Margaret Bowling, her first husband Robert C. Bassett, Jimie Staples, her infant son Robert Cosby Bassett Jr., and numerous siblings.
Elaine is survived by her daughters Connie Phillips (Jonathan) of Henderson, KY, and Jan Williams (Cliff) of Henderson, KY; sisters Marti Dixon of Bethato, IL, and Barbara Powers of Henderson, KY; brother Roger Bowling of Henderson, KY; grandchildren: Morgan Eyre (Chris), Madison DiZinno (Garrison), and Bryce Williams (Kelsie); great-grandchildren: Lyla, Remy, Brexen, Ronan, Dominic, Braisley, and Damian; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Elaine?s Life Celebration from 11:00 A.M. on Saturday until service time at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the funeral home with Reverend Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Kentucky.
