Linnie Mae Bass, 94
DUNN ? Linnie Mae Bass, age 94, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab in Dunn.
Linnie was born on June 25, 1927, in Pender County, the daughter of the late James Daniel Piner and Alice J. Wells Piner, and was preceded in death by her husband, Clester Paul Bass. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Belvin Phillips; her twin-brother, Linwood Piner; and brothers, Davis Piner and James Other Piner.
Mrs. Linnie was a devoted woman of God, who put him first in her everyday life. She was an active member in Trinity Lakeside Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She lived her Christian life every day and others saw it in all that she did, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved everybody and she never said a harmful word about anyone, if she could not say something good she just did not say anything.
She spent countless hours lap quilting and made a quilt for every one of her children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Chris Brown, Timmy Bass and Sherrill Pope officiating. Burial followed in Devotional Gardens Cemetery in Dunn.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Alice Dolkos of Dunn; sons, David Earl Bass and fiancée Phyllis Clayton, J.D. Bass and wife Faye, and Paul Bass and wife Linda, all of Dunn; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home, one hour prior to the funeral.
Due to COVID, masks are required in the funeral home.
