Mr. Bassett was born in Alma, Ga., and had lived on the Gulf Coast for two years. He was an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Bassett. Survivors include his fiancee', Nancy K. Garrett of Gautier; a daughter, Keely Bassett of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a son, James T. Bassett of Arizona; his father, Thomas J. Bassett of Biloxi; a sister, Mary Myers of Biloxi; and three brothers, David W. Bassett of Ludlow, Mass., William T. Bassett and Christopher A. Bassett, both of Biloxi. Services will be at noon Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville where friends may visit an hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery directed by Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi.
