Georgia Oglethorpe County, July 7th 1829
In the name of God Amen, I Christopher Bass of the State and county aforesaid being diseased in being but of sound mind do make this my last will and testament as follows: Viz. I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Lucy Bass her heirs and assigns the following negroes being Frank, Milly, Polly Washington and Matilda. And I do will and bequeath to my son-in-law Dr. John Gerdine Candace Esther & Fanny for the use of my wife Lucy Bass of during her natural life and at her decease to be equally divided between my Son William Bass my daughter Sarah Eaton Bass and my daughter Martha Bass. And for them I will and bequeath to my wife Lucy Bass One black cow and four calves one bed and furniture and three hundred and fifty four dollars and fifty cents in money. Also one tract of land situate in the Seventh District of the county of Early containing two hundred and fifty acres known and designated by number 43. To neg Stephen Erasmus Gollarable? I will and bequeath one grey mare and gray colt. And I do hereby appoint Dr. John Gerdine and John Moore Esq. my Executors with of all power to settle my debts and dispose of the balance of my Estate which I desire to be equally divided between my son William Bass my daughter Sarah Eaton Bass and my Daughte4r Martha Bass
