Michael Bass
Michael Bass, affectionately known as "One-Eyed Mike," passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025. A devout man of faith, an avid outdoorsman, and a passionate motorcycle enthusiast, he was a devoted family man whose infectious laughter resonated from the depths of his soul. His genuine warmth and vibrant spirit touched all who knew him. Michael dedicated over 45 years of his life to working at the paper mill, where his steadfast commitment and strong work ethic left a lasting impact.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Drucilla Smith; his cherished wife, Roxanne Bass; his daughter, Michelle Bass; his stepchildren, Tony Jensen and his wife, Christi Jensen, and Jenni Jensen; his adored grandchildren, Julia Brannon, Autumn Woessner, and Matthew Jensen; his treasured great-grandchild, Isaiah; and his loyal canine companions, Duke and Duchess. Michael's legacy of love, joy, and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14th, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Pitts officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Callaway Cemetery.
