Yvonne Epps Bass
Yvonne Epps Bass, 86, of Bainbridge, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded in spirit by the love of her family, on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025. A woman whose life was anchored in faith, she placed God first in all she did and lived each day with a servant's heart.
The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.bryantfuneralga.com.
Yvonne Cecilia Epps was born Nov. 27, 1938, in Bradenton, Fla., the daughter of Horace and Gladys Alderman Epps. Her family relocated to Bainbridge from Central Florida when she was 13 years old. Yvonne was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. For years, she worked at Herring IGA and retired from Thomas & Betts.
Family meant everything to Yvonne. She was always the first to step up when someone needed help, especially when it came to caring for loved ones. No one ever faced a hospital stay alone if she could be there. Her presence was a comfort, her patience a blessing, and her compassion an example to all who knew her.
A longtime member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church, Yvonne cherished her church and church family deeply. She found great joy in worship, lifting her voice in song, and sharing her love of gospel music. Singing was not just a hobby for her; it was a way she expressed her faith, hope, and gratitude.
Her life was defined by quiet strength, steady devotion, and boundless love. She leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, kindness, and a lifetime spent caring for others.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Tommy M. Bass; her children, Dale Bass and Vonda Bass Friend (William); her grandchildren, Jack & Katie, Melinda, Tya & James, Brendon, Jordan & Wayne, Michael & Whitney, and Chris; her great-grandchildren, lacey, Alissa & Jonathan, Makaylee, Farrah, Lane, Morgan, an Declane; her great-great-grandchildren, Lawson and Skylar; her sisters, Donna Oliver (Barry) and Terri White (Bruce); and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Yvonne was preceded in death by her son, Joey Bass, and her siblings, Betty McLaughlin, Ouida Thomas, and Horace Spurgeon Epps, Jr.
