Barbara Jo Bassett Larsen, age 80, passed away May 10, 2015 peacefully at her home in Mesa, Arizona. Barbara was born February 24, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona to Joseph Rolland Bassett and Dorthella Randall Bassett Toot. She is survived by her loving eternal companion, Dwayne Earl Larsen, her children Dwight (Cindy), Dorothy, DeNae Griffin (Paul), Don, and Debra Parker (Nicolas), 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters Shirley Shill (Edwin), Donna Bishop, Lola Bassett, brother John Bassett (Ann), and brothers-in-law Dean Larsen (Leona) and Wayne Slade (Sue). She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob Toot, and son David. Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a lifelong testimony and dedication to the gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ. Her life was the perfect example of love, compassion, and selfless service to everyone she met. She faced trials with calm, quiet courage and gladly supported her children and grandchildren in their endeavors. Visitation will be Friday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meldrum's Mortuary, 52 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m., at the Mesa East Stake Center, 2228 E. Brown Rd, Mesa, AZ. Arrangements by Meldrum's Mortuary.
