  Notes	Obituary for James Lee Bessette Services for James Lee Bessette, 96, of Rapid City, who died Sunday, September 4, 1989 in the Bella Vista Nursing Home of Rapid City, S.D. will be held at 10 A.M. on September 7, 1989 in the St. Therese The Little Flower Catholic Church with Father Richard Plante officiating. He died from congestive heart failure and arteriosclerosis. Arrangements were made by Behrens Mortuary of Rapid City, S.D. Visitation will be available form 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with rosary service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Scenic Cemetery at 1 P.M. A memorial has been established to the Scenic Cemetery. James was born on February 21, 1893 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Timothy and Ida (Hurd) Bessette. In 1905, they moved to Rapid City and then to Scenic, where they homesteaded. He attended high school in Rapid City and veterinary school in Grand Island, Nebraska. James married Victoria Kimball on August 31, 1918 in Rapid City. They owned and operated a ranch 10 miles north of Scenic until 1952, when they moved back to Rapid City. He was a member of the Farmers Union. Nationality was French.
