Mr. Bass was past Master of Masonic Lodge #413 and Grand Chapter Father of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ruth Hammock Bass; son-in-law, Roger Richardson and sister, Helen Harwell. Survivors include daughters, Janice Richardson of Griffin, Jennifer & Larry Rollins of Griffin; sons & daughters-in-law, Kimsey & Pandy Bass of Pike County, M.A. "Tony" & Karen Bass of Brunswick; sisters, Nadine Buffington of Griffin, Virginia Buffington of Griffin; brother, Roger Bass of Griffin; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Harvey & JoAnn Taylor of Palmetto; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
