Mr. Roger F. Bass, age 85 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Mr. Bass was born in Griffin, Georgia on February 12, 1935. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Joe Bass and Mildred Fountain Bass and his wife of 64 years, Joanne Lewis Bass. Mr. Bass was retired from 1888 Mills, he was a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University and was a longtime active member of Midway United Methodist Church, where he was the Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and delegate to the North Georgia Conference until the church closed in 2016. Mr. Bass is a current member of Griffin First United Methodist Church and former member of the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Ron Dunnavant, Julie and David Lynch, Susan and David Thaxton; grandchildren and spouses, Jeff and Lindsey Dunnavant, Jason and Ellen Dunnavant, Allan Lynch, Katie Lynch, Hannah and Brian Carley, Betsy and Will Winser, Jake Thaxton; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Nadine Buffington; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Welcome Center of First United Methodist Church, followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary. Reverend Andrew Covington will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
