Huntsville Southern Advocate, January 8, 1830 Died on Saturday, the 2nd inst., after a short but painful illness occasioned by wounds received from the accidental burstin of a musket, Francis E. Bassett, aged about 22 years, a native of Baltimore. Had been a resident of our town but a short time. The Guards resolved to wear crepe on the left arm for 30 days in respect.
