  Notes	Tensas Gazette, Louisiana, Wednesday, 30 January 1980 Monroe Bass Monroe Bass, age 85, of St. Joseph; died on Tuesday morning, January 22, in St. Charles Nursing Home in Newellton after a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday with Rev. Harold Lee officiating with interment in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery near St. Joseph. Mr. Bass had been a resident of Tensas Parish since 1947, and retired from Farming in 1960. Survivors include 3 sons, Clifton Bass, Willie Bass, and John R. Bass all of St. Joseph; three daughters, Mrs. Girlie Sanderson and Mrs. Donis Duncan both of St. Joseph; and Mrs. Ernestine Hathaway of New Orleans; nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Pallbearers included Mike Grover, Ronny McDaniel, Leroy McDaniel, Johnny Rhodes, Robert Jones and James Jones.
