Eunice Mae Wallace Bass

SMITHFIELD ? Eunice Mae Wallace Bass, age 90, died Friday evening, March 11, 2016 at her home. Born January 5, 1926 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Stephen R. and Omelia Johnson Wallace and was preceded in death by her husband Waylon A. Bass. She was also preceded in death by a brother Silas Raeford Wallace and two sisters, Mazie Benson and Sue Bush. Eunice attended West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. She was a telephone operator with Carolina Telephone for 15 years and then worked with Home Health and Hospice of Johnston County for 17 years.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Ham officiating. Burial will follow the cemetery at Piney Grove Church near Four Oaks. The family will receive friends from 3:00 ? 4:00 p.m. just prior to the service.
Surviving are her daughter, Paula Denise Ferrell and husband Rodney of Clayton; brother, Dallas E. Wallace of Smithfield; sister, Gladys Childers of Smithfield and two grandchildren, Waylon Ferrell and Amelia Ferrell.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the West Calvary Free Will Baptist Church, 309 Powell Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.
