Gerald R. ?Bummer? Bassett Jr.
Gerald R. "Bummer" Bassett Jr., 52 of Southfield died Saturday June 5, 2021 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born on February 15, 1969 in Great Barrington son of Gerald R. Bassett Sr. and the late Bernice (Phillips) Bassett. He was a graduate of Mount Everett High School class of 1988. Gerald owned and worked for G.R. Bassett Foundation now Bassett Foundation for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, going to Lebanon Valley and visiting with friends. Gerald's main caregivers were his cousin Ricky and his sister Shari. Gerald is survived by his father, Gerald R. Bassett Sr. and his wife Joyce, one son, Hunter Bassett of Sheffield, one daughter, Jamie Bassett of Sheffield, five sisters, Reverend Regina King and husband Konrad of Sheffield, Elina Humes and husband Orv of Canaan CT, Sandra Webber and husband Mark of Sheffield, Shari Beckwith and husband Peter of Sheffield and Pamela Stealth and husband Sean of Sheffield, one grandson, Jackson Currier of Sheffield and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Graveside service for Gerald R. "Bummer" Bassett Jr. will be held on Saturday June 12 at 12:30 PM in Sheffield Center Cemetery with Reverend Regina King officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday June 12 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA 01230.
