He was a retired employee of 52 years with Follansbee Steel Co. During W.W.I he served with the 311th Machine Gun Batallion of the 79th Division in France. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys (Norcross) Walters in 1960. Surviving are a step-daughter Mrs. Peggy Starck of Wellsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Fleming of Newton falls, Ohio and Mrs. Ethel Beatty of Turlock, Calif. Friends received at the Carte Funeral Home, Wellsburg, 2-4 and 7-9, Wednesday where services will be held Thursday at 2pm. Interment in Fort Steuben Burial estates, Wintersville.
