Gene Lionel Bass Sr.
Died 6:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 1984, at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. He was 56, a native of Gloster, Miss. and resident of Denham Springs. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 2 to 20 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Religious serfvices at funeral home, 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Frank H. Hornsby. Burial in Grangeville Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived by wife, Mrs. Ruby Ballard Bass; a daughter, Kathy Broussard; two step-daughters, Lynette Burregi and Connie Dykes, three sons, Wayne, Randy K. and Jesse Lionel Bass; five step-sons, Tommy Morgan and Sidney, Mallory, Danny and Byron Ballard; three sisters, Byrdie Miller, Dollye Chaney and Floy Davis; four brothers, S.V., Loyd, Burwell and Frank Bass; and numerous grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Charlie Bass, mother, Mrs. Illie Bass; a son, Garland Bass; a sister, Erlene Bourgue Thomas; and a brother, Don Bass.
