  Notes	The Times-Picayune, New Orleans, La, Friday, October 9, 1998 Vonnie R. McManus Bass Vonnie R. McManus Bass, a homemaker, died Wednesday at Pontchartrain Health Care Centre in Mandeville. She was 88. Mrs. Bass was born in Meadville, Miss., and lived in Covington for the past 53 years. Survivors include a son, Fred Bass; two daughters, Patricia Taylor and Violet Strange; a sister, Lula Nettles; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Shepherd's Fold Church of God, 79236 Louisiana 40, Covington. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Burial will be in Barker-McManus Cemetery.
