James Dudley Bass
Mr. James Dudley Bass of Dothan died Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Coley M. Holloway and Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Flowers will be accepted. At other times, the family will be gathered at the home for Ronnie and Sarah Childree, 1743 Trawick Rd. Dothan.
Mr. Bass was born June 7, 1919, in Houston County, Alabama, the son of the late James Arthur Bass and Mary Trula Clark Bass. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bass of Dothan; daughter, Sarah Childree and her husband, Ronnie of Dothan; sister, Maudie Butler of Dothan; grandchildren, Sharon Armstrong and her husband, Tim, David Childree and his wife,Tamela, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
