He was born Nov 5, 1907 at Lava Hot Springs to Leroy and Celia Ellen Woodland Bassett. He moved to Blackfoot in 1919. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed for three years in England. . . He worked for the city of Blackfoot in the water and sewer department for the last 20 years before retiring. He married Sarah McMurdie Wagner May 14, 1954 in Pocatello. . . Funeral services will be Tuesday [7 Apr 1981] at 2 p.m. at the Third Ward LDS Chapel. . . Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery under the direction of the Hill-Coltrin-Sandberg Funeral Home with military rites."
