Paul T. Gobbi, Jr. (Picture included)
PORTSMOUTH - Paul T. Gobbi Jr., 71, of 127 Bluefish Blvd. peacefully passed on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Portsmouth on January 10, 1943, he was the son of Paul T. and Louise (Bassett) Gobbi Sr. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1961.
Born with a life threatening disability he beat the odds by 61 years and enjoyed his life to the fullest. In 1967 he married his high school sweetheart Frances (Perkins) Gobbi.
He worked for Pic-n-Pay, Continental Shoe, Kingston Warren, PNSY in Shop 67, PAF Base Commissary, and Ron-Bet Company. During the 1960s he was a member of the Civil Defense.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping. He traveled to many places to enjoy the things he loved but finally settled on Lake Ossipee at Totem Pole Park where he made many good friends. His other love was his beagles Beaver and Spot and beloved cats Fluffy and Miss Kitty. He enjoyed his favorite shows Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Shark Tank.
He is survived by his loving family, wife of 47 years Frances, his only son Paul T. Gobbi III and wife Laura of Kittery, Maine; and the two apples of his eyes his beloved grandchildren William and Julia, sister in law Ruthie Emerton and husband Woodster, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his new best friend Junebug.
Services: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State Street, Portsmouth. The services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to BREATHE N.H.
