On Monday, January 11, 2021, Donald R. Bass, loving husband, father, Papa, brother and uncle passed away at the age of 78. Don was born on September 6, 1942 in Nashville, NC to the late Dagma and Josephine Bass. He leaves behind his wife, Clara J. Bass, his son Joe Bass and his daughter, Amy Jackson. Stepchildren, Carol Jackson, David Story and Steve Story. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emory Jackson, Ella Claire Jackson and Ryan Bass; step grandchildren Isabella Story, Savannah Story, David McCray, Brandon McCray, Sonny Jackson, McKenzie Story and Madison Story; step great-grandchildren Faith McCray, Marissa McCray, Abigail McCray and R.J. Jackson. Also his loving pets, Bentley and Sassy. Siblings are Mike Bass (Jewel), Jo Ann Shelby (Mike), Kathy Deans (Donnie) and Wendy Beale (Mib). He is also survived by a special Aunt, Rae Williams, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his stepdaughter Brenda Jackson. He was a member of Mt. Zion OFWB Church in Nashville, NC.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don?s memory to Mt. Zion OFWB Church, 1779 Mt. Zion Church Rd, Nashville, NC 27856.
A memorial service will be held at Mt. Zion OFWB Church on February 6 at 11:00 am.
